Change thread on Lucas ignition switch nut

I've purchased a new ignition switch that has a thread ¾ by 26 (BSCY)

I'd like to reuse the nut from the old one, as it has a cleaner fit and a plastic cap. However it has a different thread

I need someone to alter the thread on this old nut to fit the new switch, or alternatively manufacture an identical nut with the correct thread
